MUSOMA
MUSOMA IS ON THE
BANKS OF LAKE VICTORIA. THERE IS A DRASTIC DECLINE IN THE NUMBER OF EATABLE FISH IN THE LAKE.
- Three nations
fish from the lake. Serious tensions are brewing between the peoples in these nations as all of them depend on the fish in
the lake for survival, literally!
Also
there is exciting news about reducing poverty in Musoma through an agricultural training module. Columbia University produced
a model with funding from the United Nations. The research created a way to maximize food yield from sub-Saharan soil.
SOC contacted the university.
Now
a team is slated to go to Musoma in 2009 to plant a module on the 10 acres adjacent to the El Shaddai Christian Academy (the
school we built). We will also work to set up the same model on 15 acres donated by a village 15 miles north of Musoma.

Health Facilities is funding installation of a state of the art water system on the land adjacent to the school!
Our challenge –
- 3 teachers
working for us have not been paid for three months. That is $1800
- Pastor Job will be evicted from his home in two weeks if
he does not pay his rent. He is behind six months, which is $900
- Chaplain Don Russell is slated to go to Musoma for at least six
weeks in January and February 2009. A businessman is buying the airline ticket but travel, food and living expenses for six
weeks is $2,000.
Economic
hardship is hitting every nation in the world at this time. Christian servants are being tested, taxed and persecuted. As
you read this you might be one suffering hardship, in great need. I pray your suffering be relieved!
Please help raise funds for the agricultural project, pay the
teachers, and pay the pastor’s rent. We also must fund the travel expenses and misc. expenses. Please
